My Approach
Talking about your feelings is a powerful step towards healing and growth. But what transforms this experience from good to extraordinary? Its when you are truly heard, valued, understood and accepted for who you are.
In a world that is so busy and loud, finding a space where your voice doesn't just echo back but it met with genuine empathy and understanding can be rare because some people just don't have the headspace to listen. This is where person-centred therapy comes into play.
Developed by Carl Rogers, person-centred therapy is built on the foundational belief that each individual has the capacity for self healing and personal growth. It creates a nurturing environment where your not just speaking to be heard but where your words, feelings and experiences are deeply valued, acknowledged and understood.
In this therapeutic journey, you're the expert of your own life. The therapist walks alongside you, offering non judgement, empathy and is open and honest. This isn't just about navigating through your struggles, its recognising your inner strengths , embracing your true self and unlocking doors to your fullest potential.
My approach is Humanistic Integrative which means that I can use different theories and techniques to suit the needs of each client. I believe that everyone is different and therefore the way that they cope with situations will be different. So, it is important for me as your counsellor to adapt accordingly. I am trained to use Person-Centred, Gestalt, TA.
Counselling can enable you to talk about situations and experiences that you find difficult. Counselling can also support you through exploring your feelings, emotions and thoughts, helping to gain self awareness and makes changes if desired.
It can be a relief to be able to express yourself without judgement in a confidential and safe space, knowing ourselves at a deeper level can enable us to make better decisions in life.
